      http://www.meetup.com/animal-communication-gallery-readings-by-sandra-larson/

Do you love animals and wish you could understand their messages? Sandra Larson, International Animal Communicator will assist you. Come join her and learn what the animals are saying during this Animal Communication Gallery Reading! She’ll give you some simple steps to learn how you can become an animal communicator, too!

You will be allowed to bring live dogs to the session as long as they are well socialized to people and other dogs. (Because we want everyone to be safe, no aggressive or fearful dogs should come to the live readings. If you have questions, please call Sandra.)

Sandra is able to talk with all other species of animals. Please bring a picture for the gallery reading. You are also invited to bring a photo of animals that have transitioned. We will do as many readings as possible during the time allotted. We may not be able to talk with everyone’s animals. If you would like to be sure of a reading, you can set up a one-on-one session for your animal by appointment before the Meet Up begins on Thursday evening.

Animal Communication can be funny, tender, silly, amazing and also very enlightening. This is a great place for children and adults to see that their animal companions really do have opinions and their own reasons for doing what they do. Often, these reasons surprise their human companions! It helps to remember that all behavior is motivated behavior, even animal behavior.

When we understand those we love, our relationships can really grow and become even more important in our lives! Come join us for the pleasure and playfulness of giving our beloved animal friends an opportunity to have their voices heard!

      Blessings,
      Sandra

      The Year of the Tiger*

      February 15th, 2010

Valentine’s Day is on February 14th, but did you know it also begins The Year of the Tiger in Chinese Astrology? In the fall of 2009 my friends and I, had powerful connections with Tigers. Below is the story of how this connection unfolded. Even as I write this, I know the Tiger story is far from complete. Many people believe that animals do not have souls. However, I personally believe that not only do they have souls, but they are also sentient beings that have a purpose for living. Many Master teachers are with us on planet earth, disguised as animals, including the Tigers that called me to the zoo that day.

This story begins one night in October at a Friday night Circle facilitated by Kim. During the break, my friend Elvi whispered gently to me, “Sandra, do you know you have a huge Tiger lying at your feet?” Of course, she was not saying that she saw a physical Tiger lying there, but rather the spiritual energy of a Tiger. Often, intuitive people see animal energy around me. I responded with a ‘no, but thank you’ for letting me know what you see.

I didn’t give it too much more energy until a couple weeks later, when we were again back at Kim’s Friday Night Circle. On this special night we were given the opportunity to do readings for each other. Kim told us to choose a person to either do a reading for or else receive a reading from that person. I just knew that if given an opportunity to choose someone to read for me, I would choose Sharon. As it turned out, Sharon chose me and said she wanted to read for me. Truly, guidance was at play here. The following in italics was Sharon’s reading for me.

      Reading for Sandra from Sharon

The first thing I saw was a beautiful, peaceful, and serene meadow. You sat amid grass and flowers. There seemed to be birds, butterflies, and small animals there. I saw rabbits on your left. The rabbits stayed there and seemed to be “permanent” – as a part of the meadow. On your right were other small animals. These seemed to be less permanent. There would always be small animals there, but they would not always be the same ones. I saw them changing, but the only one I remember now is the raccoon.

Then a man appeared somewhat behind your right shoulder. He was dressed in formal attire, all in black. The impression was of old-fashioned clothing for a minister, and the time period I sensed was late 1950’s. (My grandfather was a minister in the 1950’s.)

He said he had “given you the mantle” to care for, love, and communicate with the animals. (When my grandfather died, I had asked that I would inherit his mantle of love.) The sense that I had was that this was of a gift – and a responsibility. There was a lot of love coming from him. And then he somehow became another man. This man seemed younger, or more recent. He also talked about the gift you were given and indicated he had taught you to use this gift. He also said he had limited his use of the gift and asked that you not limit your gift – you could go way beyond what he had done with the gift – both with the animals and beyond the animals, to people. (This second man is my loving father who was my first animal communication teacher.)

As he disappeared, I shifted my attention back to the left side of you. The rabbits were still there, and so were Tigers and a lion in the background. I saw 3 Tigers clearly and sensed there may be more, but they were out of my vision. One of the Tigers came up to you, and it was clear you were communicating with this Tiger, because he was intent, listening, as he came closer. You also seemed to be listening, so the feeling was of a back and forth energy exchange. The other 2 Tigers were facing you and seemed to be watching and listening to the exchange. They seemed to be participating but less actively. The lion in the back was watching the Tigers. The lion seemed to be very intent, somewhat curious, but the energy was more of taking in information, deciding.

As I continued to watch, the communication seemed to end, and the Tigers began to leave. As they neared the lion, all four large cats moved toward the back of the meadow and transformed to people. I could not see the people clearly, but they were definitely human forms, and there were four of them.

As I asked if there were any other messages, there was a profound feeling of love – and I felt it was from the two men I had seen. But it was more than that – bigger. It felt like a spiritual connection to the earth, to the animals, to the universe. And then there was a profound sense of peace and serenity, of well-being. There weren’t any words, just this overwhelming sense of “rightness.”

This message from Sharon was powerful, beautiful and very humbling to me. Because it is my joy and I believe my purpose in life to communicate with animals, her reading touched me that night in a very deep way and does so now, even as I write this story.

A couple weeks later, again at Kim’s Friday Night Circle, Keri through her gift of intuitive seeing shared this with our group. Again, her it is in italics.

Keri: The date was October 9th

You were talking about Elvi telling you that she had seen a Tiger at your feet. At that time I saw your face for the first time shift into a Tiger, but I didn’t see it shift clearly. I remember you talking about the number three so I asked if I was to say something, I wanted my guidance to show it to me three times. I just wanted to be sure. The second time it was a little clearer and the third time it was very clear and very detailed. Your head from the neck up was the head of a Tiger. Very detailed strips clean white fur in the mussel area. Then I was seeing a mother Tiger with three babies and the middle Tiger cub was an albino.

I’m not sure what happened next, but I remember the elephant being to your right side was huge in size and standing very close. His ears being full out and almost strait to his sides like a statue but not quite. I remember an alpaca not a lama which was a gray and white cute cuddly sweet thing. (A couple days later, I received a phone call asking if I did animal communication sessions for alpacas!) Then from there the animals started to come in like a totem. They were all very large and grand in size, going all the way to heaven. The eagle was at the top with wings open, standing strait up in a regal position with his head looking slightly to the left. Oh, the crown being placed on your head that is important to the Tiger and other animals it is a trust and a thank you from all the animal kingdom.

The very next day, on October 10th, I was asked to do animal communication at the Open House of Dog Day Care Center in Arlington. I met a kind wonderful woman from Wisconsin, which is my home state. This woman told me I must meet her daughter. It turned out Anna is a zoo keeper for the Monkeys and the Tigers. Anna invited me to go behind the scenes at the zoo and talk with the Tigers. I was thrilled to be invited. I have spoken with zoo animals before, but not quite up front and personal! We set the appointment for the following week. The following are the highlights of the conversations I had with the Tigers. Kim’s daughter, Sam happily agreed to join me that day at the zoo and was our photographer. (I’ve changed the names of the Tigers for the privacy of the zoo and the animal(s), too.)

      Tigers at the Zoo (10/15/2009)

Max He came right us to us as we walked near his enclosure. He kept pacing back and forth near us. He told me that we are all his friends. He also said that his paws swell up, and are a problem and that his hips hurt. He told me has strange electrical pulses in his head that go wrong and make him unable to see. He confided in me that he misses his old friend, another Tiger and that he doesn’t think he will be with us much longer. (He told me he thought he would be going to heaven soon.) He also said that he’s not dangerous anymore. He seemed to want more companionship from humans and other Tigers.

Samuel was very cautious as I approached his enclosure. He asked me, “What do you want and why are you here?” I remember feeling very taken aback by his aggressive response to my presence. He told me he was tired of all the attention and just wanted to be left alone. He was very angry and on the cusp of being depressed. (The zoo keepers told me the vet had examined him back in July, but didn’t know what was wrong with him and that he’d had many visitors recently.) I picked up that he had polyp(s) in his body and tears in his GI tract. (Of course, I’m no vet, but I do tell people what animals tell me. Honestly, I didn’t even know that a Tiger could have a polyp in his body.) When I asked him why he didn’t like to be on exhibit, he told me he didn’t like the word ‘exhibit’. So the zoo keepers who care deeply about the animals in their care decided to call it something different like, ‘going outside’ from that time forward. He told me he was a shy Tiger and more of an introvert. As we talked, he apologized for being unkind in the beginning of our conversation. He then became more optimistic and said that within two weeks there would be a shift in him for the better. (Little did I know at the time how major that shift was to be.)

Millie- As we approached this young female Tiger, the zoo keeper told me that she had only recently arrived at the zoo a month earlier. They told me not to expect much because she was very frightened, especially of new people. Immediately, as I approached her enclosure I started to speak soft, gentle, soothing words to her. At first her eyes were wide like saucers, but as I continued to send her love she began to relax. Then, within a few minutes she moved about five feet closer to me and seemed to be listening intently. She told me she’d had a bad journey here from the other zoo, and that she was scared and missing her family. She said she felt like she needed a protector. In the home she came from her brother had been her protector, but here she felt like she needed a new protector. (The zoo keepers confirmed that she did have a biological brother at the previous zoo.) She liked Max, the older Tiger because she felt like he was safe. Millie was afraid of the older female Tiger Ginger and sensed she wasn’t wanted by her. I told Millie that the zoo keepers here would do all they could to keep her safe and even find her a new protector. She told me Ginger was jealous of her and that Millie didn’t like her. She confided to me that she was trying to be invisible because she doesn’t want to be a threat to ‘Queen’ Ginger, as she was often called. Within a short period of time, Millie was up walking around her enclosure and often glancing out the small rectangular window where Ginger’s enclosure was located. Finally, she began to move with more confidence around her enclosure and then lay on her back while putting her feet up in the air, showing her playful, relaxed side! The last thing she told me is that she will be a lot of fun after she gets over being shy!

Ginger As I walked up to her enclosure, ‘Queen’ Ginger met and sat down less than one foot in front of me. She told me that she didn’t like Millie the new Tiger because of the way she smelled. She confided to me that life have been rough lately. She felt like she’d had an intrusion of her space and wanted to know if she was being replaced by Millie. (At first, I wanted to assure her that she wasn’t, but the zoo keepers informed me she could no longer have Tiger cubs and that was one of the reasons Millie had come to zoo. Actually, she wasn’t being replaced but the role she had held as the only female Tiger had come to an end.) She also told me that she’d wanted to be a friend to Max, but he had rejected her. The zoo keepers asked me to ask her about the problem she had with another one of the male Tigers and she told me they’d had cross words. She called that Tiger a bully. When she was done talking with me, she went to the back of her enclosure and climbed up on her ‘throne’. She seemed like a bit of a sad queen that day.

Solomon was pacing his enclosure as we turned away from Ginger to face him. He immediately stopped pacing and sat down as we approached. He asked me why I spoke with him last because he was the one to call me to the zoo. When I looked at him, I felt that he was the one Keri had seen shape shifted into my face at the Friday Night Circle. He took my breath away! He was powerful with strength and wisdom! He responded to Ginger’s remarks by telling me that he wasn’t a bully, but he didn’t want anyone to push him around. He said that Ginger was ‘full of herself’! He also felt that Samuel was moody and he didn’t have time for moodiness. He reminded me that he doesn’t have time for immaturity. He told me that he has a job to, no foolishness and that he likes to work. (The zoo keepers told me he’s a very hard working Tiger and he does whatever he is asked to do.) He knows he’s very bright and powerful, but he doesn’t abuse it. He told me that he rules silently, but with an iron fist. The amazing thing was that he told me he was expecting another cat other than Millie and that it would be male. (Little did we know how correct his prediction really was at the time.)

On November 11, two very strange things happened to me. First, in the morning I received an email from my good friend Gail regarding some ethereal visits she’d had from the Tigers. She told me she felt as though one of the Tigers sadly had died! I was shocked and began searching the internet for information regarding the death of a zoo Tiger. I didn’t find any information. However on the very same day in the afternoon, I received this note from Anna, the zoo keeper who had been kind enough to invite me to talk with the Tigers on that day.

      Dear Sandra,

Thank you so much for the card! It was beautiful. I have some sad news though. Unfortunately we lost Samuel. He stopped eating and was appearing to be worse so we brought in some specialists and did another procedure. In the ultrasound we found many polyps around his stomach. In the endoscope (from the mouth end) we looked into his stomach with a camera and found the inside lining scattered with ulcers. He had been doing fine during the procedure until we turned him on his stomach to do the colonoscopy. The lining of his colon was very abnormal tissue. While we were doing this his heart stopped. We did CPR on him for 30 minutes but weren’t able to save him. After the autopsy it looked like if he had made it through he didn’t have long and there wasn’t much we could do. Maybe it was a blessing so he wouldn’t be in pain anymore. It was horrible and devastating to have him die in our arms but hopefully he knew how hard we tried to help him. He will be greatly missed.

All of the other Tigers are doing well though. Maybe Samuel really thought he would make it. Maybe Max meant Samuel wouldn’t be with us much longer. Strangely enough this does open the door for another male Tiger like Solomon said…..

Thank you again for sharing your gift with us and I will keep in contact and let you know how things work out.

      Anna

I am so thankful that Samuel had not told me about his impending transition. Maybe he did, but not in a way understood. The miracle he spoke of perhaps was his returning to Spirit. Perhaps, Max was talking about Samuel’s passing away, rather than his. The amazing thing was that Solomon knew that the zoo would be getting a new male Tiger. (Zoos don’t move quickly about these things because the safety and wellness of the animal is of the utmost importance. Therefore, there are only certain times of the year that it’s safe to transport animals from one zoo to another.)

Gail later shared this about her experience with the Tigers.

I’m still amazed at what happened with the Tigers. As I was in mediation this last Sunday, I began to see Tigers in my vision. That wasn’t too unusual since I was asking my guides to show me who was in the back yard scaring the dogs.

What really makes this even more amazing was that the Thursday night before Sunday, I had a dream and in my dream I saw three Tigers in the back yard. In the dream I was afraid at first because my dogs were in the back yard and I didn’t know if they would harm them. The Tigers sat there in a formation that now I realize was a form of protection for my animals. I was calmer and tried to get the dogs inside. The dream ended and I went somewhere else in my dream.

The next morning as I sat at the kitchen table having coffee with my husband, I told him about my dream. He didn’t really think much of it and so we continued drinking our coffee. The dogs needed to go out, so my husband let them out. When he came back to the table he started telling me about a few incidents that happened with our dog Spirit.
Spirit had been in the yard and all of a sudden took off running back to the house crying with his tail between his legs and scared. My husband brought the dogs into the house and as usual gave them a treat for doing their business. My husband was concerned when Spirit not only looked distraught but wouldn’t take his treat.

I asked my husband if it was possible that something on the ground might have bit him and he told me he didn’t think so and that it happened when Spirit was just sitting right in front of his garage. I still hadn’t connected it yet. I started trying to figure out who or what was in the back yard.

On Saturday I went to lunch with my very good friend Tobi Smith and as we talked, I told her about the dream. Tobi then gave me confirmation that the Tigers were there and they did appreciate the energy I was sending them. I then asked the Tigers not to show themselves to the dogs and thank them for being there.

Now back to Sunday. As I was walking through the house, something urged me to go into my healing/meditation room. As I laid there meditating, I asked my guides to show me who was in the back yard. They showed me the Tigers, I asked them why they were there and I felt the Tigers gratitude for sending them Love and Light. It brought tears to my eye and I could feel their emotions as well.

I had been sending them Love and Light since Sandra Larson told the Meet up group about her visit with the Tigers and about their feelings of being there as well as the sick Tiger. My heart went out to them and so I started sending the energy.

As I was still mediating, I saw another Tiger sitting just to my left and above me. I knew that I was to put my hand on him and start sending him energy. As I placed my hand on him I knew instantly that I was to help his energy crossover. The emotions that ran through me were like no other. I had crossed animals before, but this was different.

As I began giving him the energy I sobbed like a baby. I couldn’t understand this, I had done this before so why was I crying so hard? It took only a few minutes and he crossed. I was so emotional that I didn’t know if I had done what I was supposed to do. After getting up from my mediation table and sitting on my couch, I wondered if I failed this baby. It’s hard to know if you accomplished something when you have that much emotion running through you.

I had to know if he crossed, so I called my dear friend Tobi and as I explained it to her, she confirmed that her guides told her that the Tiger had crossed and was in peace. What a relief to know that. I felt the love and appreciation of this Tiger at that very moment. Again the tears ran down my face but this time for joy, joy that the Tiger was in peace and that I accomplished what my heart had desired.

The next day I emailed Sandra to tell her of my experience and she wrote back thanking me for the information. She began to search the Internet for any news about a Tiger passing. After looking for 30 minutes to no avail, Sandra received an email from the zoo keeper, Anna telling her that one of the Tigers died. Sandra was affect by this just as I had been the day before. But to her shock, it wasn’t the older Tiger, Max. It was the Tiger, Samuel that told Sandra he was sick but was going to heal himself.

The Tiger, Samuel had died on Oct 21st, 2009 and I crossed over the Tiger on November 1st, 2009. How can that be? Well as it was explained to me, the Tiger that died was very upset and didn’t expect to die. He was so upset and surprised by his death that his energy stayed behind.

The next day I asked my husband when he first saw Spirit (our dog) acting as though something was in the yard, and to my amazement it was around the same time that Samuel the Tiger died. He had been hanging around waiting for me to see him and help him. The other three Tigers came to help me help him and that’s why I had the dream on the Thursday before.

I continue to send energy to the animals at the zoo and anywhere there are animals, especially where they are used for entertainment. So when you get the chance, whenever you come across a place that houses our beautiful and loving animals, please send them your Love, Energy and Thoughts, They need it and deserve it.

I’m still amazed at what a gift I was given to help the Tigers. I am grateful for that experience.

I was told that 2010 is the year of the Tigers, I guess so.

Thank you Sandra and Tobi for being who you!

Our photographer, Sam who came with me to the zoo connected with Samuel after he made his transition and this is what she said he had to say.

He said again I am free and he had very peaceful energy with him. He was also very happy and not grumpy. He wants us to know that Tigers are just like domestic cats in that they want affection. This is also true for other wild animals. He came up close to me and brushed against my legs and was saying, “You can pet me. I promise I won’t hurt you. I am not as scary as I am perceived.” He want to stress that in his words, “WILD ANIMALS ARE NOT AS SCARY AS THEY ARE PERCEIVED TO BE! WE ARE CALLING YOUR KIND TO SEE THAT. IF YOU HAVE BEEN CALLED, I ASK YOU TO PLEASE HELP US GET THIS MESSAGE ACROSS TO YOUR KIND!” He also said that we will be lead to help people understand that they are not going to hurt us. We will learn how to do techniques to help with trusting them.

He wants to thank you for listening to him and the rest of the Tigers. It helps the energy around the Tigers and with time I will reach the other animals there. He also wants to apologize for being rude at the first meeting. He wants to say he was not always like that. He told me he was always a happy Tiger up until the point that he got sick. But he also wants to stress he is happy. And is home now and surrounded by his family. He said thank you so much! I am at peace now! He pointed out that the word “exhibit” was changed because of him and he’s very thankful for it.

It seemed as though the Tiger Solomon was very busy astral traveling to my very dear friends. Annette shared the following story with me about her visit from him.

Sandra told the story of her meeting with the Tigers and how wonderful it had been to connect with them and hear what they had to share. A few days after, I was in the middle of performing a massage on a client and a very strong energy made its presence know in the room. As I acknowledged the presence, a huge Tiger face whooshed up to my face and it literally took my breath away because I could feel the strength behind it. I knew that it was the large male Tiger, Solomon who had talked with Sandra. Because I had been so taken by surprise and in awe of what I was feeling, I didn’t ask any questions of him.

My second encounter with Solomon was again while performing a massage. I felt that same strength and again I saw his huge face in front of me. This time I looked into his eyes and there were flames for pupils. I could feel the heat from them and the intensity coming from his eyes. He didn’t remain for long but made quite an impression anyway. Later as I was talking to Sandra I found that Solomon had come to me the same morning that one of the Tigers had died.

This last time I had an experience with the Tigers was when I was having an MRI done on my wrist. It was a 30 minute procedure so there was lots of time to just lay there and think. As I was in the middle of the procedure a female Tiger came to me. She felt very regal. I had planned on doing a Tiger painting but just had not done it. Well, the regal Ginger told me that it was time and that I needed to do it that day. I was to give the painting to Sandra that night at the Meet Up. I got home and kept putting it off and Queen Ginger would not leave me alone. At 2:00pm I finally gave in and pulled all my painting supplies out. Since I’m not a trained painter I normally have to spend a lot of time figuring out how to mix colors and how to do certain techniques to make the painting the way I want. With this painting, however, I mixed and painted without even thinking. I was amazed at the speed and the ability to just allow the brush to do what it should. I finished the painting at 5:00pm. Just in time to put a finish coat on and allow it to dry before the Meet Up. I gave the painting to Sandra and she immediately pointed out that there is a face in the painting. I never even saw it before she pointed it out. When Ginger came to me that day, I envisioned her being back in the back where the Tigers sleep at the zoo. I was sitting next to the fence and she put her large right paw on the fence and one of her claws extended. It was huge and I stroked it with my finger. I told her she was an amazing creature. She told me that “WE” are all amazing. She explained that as creations of a Higher Source we are all ONE and share those same traits with the Higher Source. She said that the Tigers are only a small part of this vibrational movement that is going on right now with this planet. This movement is in the infancy stage but will progress quickly and as people who recognize what is happening we need to hold space for this planet and all her inhabitants. In doing so, we will be helping the planet and its inhabitants to open up to the new vibration that is emanating from Source. Ginger explained that animals of all kinds are helping to usher in this new vibration and we need to be more open to hearing what they have to tell us.

Well, this is my story of how I was blessed to connect with the Tigers. As I said earlier, I know it won’t be the last time I’m privileged to be in their presence. My heart is open to all animals. It is my intention to be an open vessel to speak on behalf of them and to help humans know their important messages. The world could NEVER have too many animal communicators! Someday, I believe we all will be able to hear and understand what all animals have to say! This is my prayer and loving intention!

Because an American Zoo allowed us to photograph the Tigers, we are not disclosing the actual name of the zoo, or the zoo keepers. I’ve also changed the names of the Tigers for the same reason. Other than name changes and exact dates, it is my goal to share with you this experience as accurately as possible. Even with my friends, I’ve used only first names. This is not my story alone because so many contributed their experiences with the Tigers. I want to thank my many good friends for helping me by writing their part of the story. Please check out the site below about the declining population of wild Tigers around the world. I pray that human beings, we will ‘wake up’ before Tigers no are longer physical beings and are only available to us in spirit!

      Tiger Distribution throughout the World

The population figures given have been gathered from a vast amount of sources in Tiger range countries. Though counting Tigers is difficult, due to their dense forest habitation, these figures provide a reasonable indication of the world’s population of Tigers to be around 5015. From this total, there is estimated to be 20 South China, 415 Siberian, 400 Sumatran, 1180 Indo Chinese and 3000 Bengal Tigers in existence. http://www.internatyearofthetiger.org/plight.htm

      Kim’s Story of Abbey

      Sandra,
I just want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to honor Abbey. She crossed over in May of 2009. Your session with her was so helpful. I was feeling so guilty for having to make the decision to have her put to sleep.

Abbey was such a sweet loving black schnauzer. She was loved by all our family. When my daughter was a teenager and still living, at home Abbey spent a lot of her time with Jessica. After Jessica left for college Abbey took up with my son Blake. When I was going through my empty nest syndrome she was such a comfort to me. Abbey was able to share her love with others through the puppies that she had. My cousin was blessed by two and we kept one.

In her later years Abbey was always a happy girl even though she was in a lot of pain. She had developed tumors and that is eventually what caused her health to decline.

I would just like to say that she was such a blessing and we were very fortunate to have her in our lives. We will always remember her and we miss her daily……….

During our session with her she said for me to think of her whenever I saw a feather. I cannot tell you what that meant to me. Now when I least expect it I will see one and immediately she comes to mind. And it is always at just the right moment that I seem to need a little lift. So even though she is not here with me in the physical world I know that she is still looking out for me.

Thank for the memories sweet, Abbey.

      Trisha’s Journey Home

      February 13th, 2010

      Sandra,
I will try to listen and call in on Sunday. Here is something else that just occurred to me last night. In 1984, I think, that was the year my grandfather passed. We called him Pop Pop. Pop Pop had a major heart attack while driving his car. He lived with his cat Sammy. My parents were out of town and had to hurry home. My mother did not go to Pop Pop’s house until the next morning. When she arrived she found that Sammy had also passed away. She has always wondered what happened to Sammy. Did he die of fright? Did he just know to go to Pop Pop? Did Pop Pop come and take him along? We have no pictures of Sammy. He was an older yellow-orange tabby.

      Dear Lee,
I do believe that we live on this earth with those who are in our Soul Group! This Soul Group loves us dearly and may come to us through people and animals, too. Have you ever noticed how when an elderly person passes away, sometimes his or her human companion/mate will pass shortly after this happens? I’ve seen this often with people and their animal companions, too. The following is the story about our sweet cat, Trisha and her journey to her forever home with Mary.

      Trisha’s Journey Home

We were three young sisters, living together on our own trying to pretend we were all grown up! One day, as sister/roommates Bonnie, Coleen and I decided to go check out the local Animal Shelter. We were quite comfortable with dogs because we’d been around them a lot growing up, but we knew very little about cats. None of dogs there that day seemed like a fit for us, so Bonnie suggested we look in the cat room. We didn’t think much would come of it, but thought it would be alright just to check it out.

In the cat room at the Shelter, many cats were meowing and moving around in the cages. However, one beautiful black and white cat was doing the most unique behavior, trying to get our attention. We were quite surprised by her intelligence and inviting gentle personality. We had no intention of bringing a cat home with us, but Trisha as we came to call her, had every intention of coming home with us.

She did not disappoint. She was funny, entertaining and very loving. Often she would ‘fly’ at top speed into the room, run up the wall, land on her feet and look both ways as if someone was chasing her because she was a spy. (The house we were renting may very well have been haunted!) We didn’t know how to treat a cat, so we used aluminum foil to make balls which she would fetch and return to us so we would throw them again.

We loved her dearly, so it broke our hearts when we decided as sisters we would move to California and leave Trisha behind. Our kind cousins, Joan and Mike Hansen invited us to stay with them while we were getting settled in the San Diego area. We knew it wasn’t possible to bring Trisha with us, so we started looking for a new home for her.
Bonnie found a woman named Mary who was willing to adopt Trisha. She’d had a hard life as truck-stop waitress and also been married to an abusive husband. She was very kind to others, but confided to Bonnie that she had never felt really loved by anyone until Trisha came into her life. Often Mary wrote to us in California about Trisha’s funny and endearing new behaviors. It was clear that this was a love match made in heaven. Trisha was so loved that she became a huge even happier cat with Mary. Finally, after many years, Mary died. After waiting her whole life to be loved, in her golden years of retirement a sweet cat came to fill her days with joy. Three days later after her death, Trisha went to be with Mary.

I believe Trisha and Mary were from the same Soul Group. That day, when we went into the Cat Room at the Shelter, Trisha knew she was supposed to go home with us because we were to be the way she was to find Mary! When I look back, I believe we were guided to go into that room.

Sometimes, we are called to keep an animal with us in our home, but other times, we are a bridge to bring two souls together. Follow your intuition when it comes to helping an animal find a home. As souls, we all, including animals choose to be in our physical bodies for a reason. Keep your heart open and you can also be instrumental in connecting two Soul Mates together!

      Blessings,
      Sandra

A Farmer Had Some Puppies He Needed to Sell

      February 12th, 2010

Someone sent this to me via an email. It spoke to me about love and compassion. Enjoy! Sandra

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups and set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard.

As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy. “Mister,” he said, “I want to buy one of your puppies.”

“Well,” said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, “These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money.”

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer.

“I’ve got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?”

“Sure,” said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle. “Here, Dolly!” he called.

Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.

The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight.

As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse.

Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up…

“I want that one,” the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy’s side and said, “Son, you don’t want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would.”

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers.

In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.

Looking back up at the farmer, he said, “You see sir, I don’t run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands.”

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup. Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy.

“How much?” asked the little boy. “No charge,” answered the farmer, “There’s no charge for love.”

The world is full of people who need someone who understands.

      The Story of Max

      February 9th, 2010

Working as a caregiver, sponsored by the state I live in, I met a dog that was tied up in a residents’ backyard on a 3ft rope in a fenced in yard (grrrr). I did my best to explain how inappropriate this was to no avail. I watched the owners with the dog for a couple of days and was shocked at their total lack of compassion for a dog that I was falling in love with. I always made sure this dog had fresh water and food but the residents would not allow me to take better care with him than that. One day I showed up early and to my dismay found this dog with his mouth duct taped around a small stuffed animal. He was obviously in respiratory distress. It was a hot summer day and they had him stuffed into a cat carrier!! That day I took him home with me even though they threatened me with the law. I called animal control and was fortunate to get a man I had talked to many times. He told me I had to take the dog back and file a complaint. I don’t think I was ever more angry, sad and just beside myself with the thought of leaving this intelligent fun-loving animal in a BAD situation. It broke my heart when he cried at the fence when I returned him. Animal Control would monitor but that wasn’t good enough for anyone involved in this. I had to offer these people money to cover their “costs”. I ended up giving $200 but they really had no idea how high I would go so I reckon I got off easy. I named him Max and even though I’ve had dogs all my life this one is different. Truth to tell four years later, he has certainly beat all my expectations of becoming a companion. Max came into my life for a reason and has taught me more than I’ve taught him! I’m a better person for knowing him and my husband is a better person for knowing this delightfully loyal, prank playing fun creature who is so very intelligent, gentle and loving. Thanks for letting me share Max with you. Blessing to you for all the work you have put into your life’s passion. Nice to meet you.

      Napping Dog

      February 9th, 2010

An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard.
I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.
He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.

An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.
The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour.
This continued off and on for several weeks.
Curious I pinned a note to his collar: ‘I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.’
The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar:
‘He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 - he’s trying to catch up on his sleep.
Can I come with him tomorrow?’

      Tribute to Pork Chop

      February 9th, 2010

      pork chopDear Sandra,

As I told you and Natalia, my husband is having difficulty adjusting to the absence of our dog that passed in August. We have been talking about him more, and I tried to get my husband to write something for your newsletter but he didn’t, so I have decided to do it. I was surprised at how many times I smiled as I composed this little composition, poem or whatever. There should be pictures attached. I haven’t done anything like this for a long time.

      Pork Chop
Thanks for the memories of walks anywhere, anytime, in any weather,
Of herding us all to the living room to have us together.
Of your warm furry back pressed up against ours on cold nights,
Of how you loved any ball no matter the size and took that man’s ball right off of the tee.
And those big wonderful kisses that could catch us off guard,
Those treasures you found on our walks like thrown away burgers,
And at Halloween a Tootsie Roll Pop you carried all the way home with the pop in your mouth,
And, the stick hanging out as if you had one every day.
Of how in the spring and the fall you always did yourself assigned job of chasing,
And barking at the geese as they flew overhead.
And Porkie, a great job you did too.
So you Handsome Dog, Mr. Wonderful, thanks for the memories and Happy Valentine’s Day!

      Love,
      Mom, Dad, Adam and Ryan
