Conversations with Horses

One of the most exciting things about being an animal communicator and an intuitive coach is that I never quite know what my week or month will look like. A few weeks ago, I was invited to a barn to talk with several horses and, of course, their human companions. It’s always wonderful to meet new human and horse friends, but also to say hello to some familiar faces I connected with during previous visits at this particular barn.

Just like every person is unique and different with their own likes, dislikes and talents – the same can be said about animals, especially horses. I met with several horses during this barn visit, and I thought you might enjoy a little glimpse into some of the thoughts and physical responses from the horses that I spoke with during their sessions.

Let’s start with Merlin. He’s a feisty horse! I may have mentioned him in a previous blog as the horse who didn’t like to be touched. However, he was also the one who tried to walk with me down the lane in the barn as I went to visit with another horse. He didn’t want me to leave! On this day, he was quite wiggly and eager to go outside to be with his horse friends. Any question I asked, he responded with exaggerated head movements, nodding yes and no as he also moved his entire body. He was clearly full of anticipation and curiosity about what was going on outside the barn in the pasture, so we wrapped it up, so he could go out to play. His person did tell me that he seemed much calmer after our conversation.

The first thing Atlas told me was, “I’m mighty, mighty!” His assigned work is called Horse Eventing, which means he does Dressage, Jumping, and Long-distance runs. He told me he enjoys this, but he performs at his best when his human partner first shows him the tasks through groundwork. He is a gentle giant, yet incredibly kind and loved by the other horses.

When I met Tito, he stood quietly with his head gently lowered. He’s a horse leased out to multiple riders for training purposes, and he told me that he simply wants to be in service to others. While I spoke with him, tears came to my eyes because I could sense he’s an incarnate angel. I asked whether he ever got into fights with the other horses, especially his brother Teddy, but his person said he always runs away from trouble or aggression. Throughout our time together, Tito stood very still, but when I asked a particular question, he suddenly and vehemently shook his head yes to show his agreement. Titos gentle soul touched me greatly. I loved my time with this beautiful boy.

Teddy, the brother of Tito, is a geldiong. As many of the male horses in this barn are. He told me he loves to be touched, to be loved on, and to be admired. Usually, I would call a gelding a handsome horse, but I kept hearing the word “pretty.” I didn’t want to use that word aloud, but I felt compelled to share what I was receiving. So, I shared that he thinks of himself as being “pretty”. His person laughed and said she calls him Pretty…all …the …time. He told me he wants to be admired, but doesn’t want to have to work that hard. I think he enjoys looking at himself in the mirror, too! His person shared a picture of him looking in the mirror – and yes, Teddy is truly ‘pretty’!

It was so good seeing Silver and his person again. You may remember I mentioned that Silver survived a tornado in Celina, TX where sadly some of his horse friends lost their lives. He was physically hurt, but he is healing well in both mind and body. Both he and his person have become friends of mine. Their connection to each other is a joy to see. Silver is making great progress in the work they are doing together!

After visiting the Celina barn, and remembering the tragedy that took place here, an idea came to me. I thought a mediumship gallery for horse parents might be a good idea. We're in the early stages of putting together a small intimate gathering of current and former horseowners who would like to communicate with their beloved horses, who have transitioned. If anyone reading this blog might be interested, please reach out to me for more details.

I just love doing barn sessions with horses. They always remind me of how special these majestic animals truly are. If you have any questions about horse communication, or any other animal communication, I’d love to hear from you. My door is always open to your questions and interests.

Many Blessings,

Sandra
